About
I am a follower of Christ who believes scripture is the authentic truth of God and entirely pertains to the reality of every part of our lives today in modern society. I find it beautiful to see the truth of God flesh itself out in the happiness, pain, and every day events of the lives of believers.
I am married to the most intelligent person I’ve ever met. He grew up in a log cabin in Tennessee and I grew up in Virginia in the shadow of the nation’s capital, so it depends on which one of us you ask as to whether we now live in suburban or rural South Carolina. We have a seven year old son and a four year old daughter, with whom I stay home. We do University Model School, so we have thoroughly confused our neighbors about what is actually going on at our house.
I am a former junior high history teacher and I still carry with me the desire to see young people develop a strong, biblical worldview…and I have a lot to say about it. A lot.
My pet peeves are poor turn signal usage, the mispronunciation of the word, “nuclear”, and any comparison between the United States of America and the Biblical nation of Israel. I do, however, love the U.S. and the freedom it provides, and I think that freedom poses unique challenges for American believers.
I believe true acceptance of God’s sovereignty and His word starts with a belief in creation, but I don’t intend to argue about it here (there are other places better suited for that). I am consistently inconsistent, so please adjust any expectations of timely posting accordingly. I like sarcasm and the traditional use of the formal “he” and both will be found here. I am a dreadfully imperfect, but who isn’t…that’s why Christ died for us.
I believe that the Word of God is real and amazing and full of the hope the world is searching for.
